The Epistemonikos Foundation is a non-profit organization that regards transparency and independence as integral components of its core values. We maintain an unwavering commitment to collaborating with a diverse range of organizations, aiming to assist them in integrating the best available evidence into their decision-making processes. However, we uphold an stringent approach to safeguard against any partnership or collaboration that could potentially compromise our independence.
To ensure that our current and future funding sources adhere to the highest standards of transparency and do not compromise the Epistemonikos Foundation's independence, we are implementing a rigorous protocol in collaboration with the organization Médicos sin Marca, which is slated for full implementation in 2024.
Concerning our sources of funding, there are three primary avenues: software services, research funds, and evidence services.
1. Our software services encompass the development, customization or licensing of software for other organizations. We continually strive to enhance our technological tools to improve their efficiency to support the more ambitious evidence projects.
2. Research funds, on the other hand, are secured through contesting, primarily funding international multi-center projects. These endeavors are dedicated to addressing critical issues within the realms of evidence synthesis and healthcare at large, contributing significantly to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
3. Our evidence services are dedicated to generating systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, and various other evidence-based products that empower diverse organizations to make informed decisions grounded in the available evidence.
Until now, the Epistemonikos Foundation has never actively sought or accepted donations. However, as we embark on more ambitious projects that we believe warrant exploring new streams of funding, we are open to receiving contributions. These funds will be allocated to support our infrastructure and development costs for two key projects: the Epistemonikos Database of Trials and the Living Overview of Evidence.
Collaboration is a core value at the Epistemonikos Foundation, and we incorporate it into all the tools and methods we develop. We partner with other organizations that share our mission to maximize the impact of our work.
